フリーランスとして独立するためには、修業時代に数多くの舞台の現場を経験するとともに、演出家、脚本家、俳優をはじめとした舞台芸術にかかわる人々との人脈を広げる必要がある。いずれの道を選ぶにしろ、舞台美術家として独り立ちするまでには、相当の年月がかかる。
