リフレクソロジーは、補完療法・緩和ケアとして欧米で広く行われている健康法であり、人間の全身の様々な骨格・臓器等が足裏や手・耳にある反射区に映し出されているという考え方のもとに、直接患部ではなく、その反射区を刺激することで老廃物を排除したり、血液やリンパ等の循環をあげるなどして健康を維持していく技術である。独特の指使いで圧を加えていく。心身のリラクゼーショシ効果があるとされ、比較的痛みを伴わないため、高齢者などへも施術することができ、健康維持・回復を助ける「健康・癒し分野の技術」とされている。
